After the monarchy was overthrown in 1893, the building was used as the main capital building of all the Hawaiʻian islands until 1969. Only accessible by a quick boat ride, you’ll visit the sunken hull of the battleship by shuttle boats to and from the memorial leaving from the associated USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center.
