Ready, set, relax: Your Las Vegas wellness journey awaits

From luxury spas to high-flying (literally) fitness classes, desert wellness retreats and more, the Las Vegas wellness scene offers guests a perfectly pampered blend of fun and self-care. | By Suzie Dundas | February 22, 2022

Whether it’s because of the surrounding (and sweeping) red-rock desert or the “work hard, play hard” mentality of the city, Las Vegas has deep roots in the wellness scene. From intense gym classes to desert yoga, creative spa treatments and more, Las Vegas’ offerings are just as impressive as you’d expect them to be. Don’t miss out on memorable offerings such as:

  • Cirque-worthy workouts: Take an aerial or ninja warrior class at the Las Vegas Circus Center

  • Red-rock mindfulness: Go hiking or practice yoga with a full-day tour of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

  • Serious R&R: Treat yourself like royalty at a world-class luxury spa

Strike a pose in the desert

While Las Vegas is as urban as can be, its surroundings are undeveloped and full of beautiful scenery. The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is west of the city and has more than 195,000-acres with an 11,916-foot-high peak called Charleston Peak. Mead is just 30 minutes east, and the almost 50,000-acre Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area protects ancient petroglyphs to the south. You’ll find stunning hikes in all three areas.

If you want to mix a leg-burning hike with a mental reset, sign up for a guided workout through Red Rock Canyon. Several companies offer full- or half-day tours that include transportation to the trailhead, a guided hike and guided yoga and meditation sessions in the shadow of the colorful rock formations.

Check out Red Rock Hiking for all-day trips or sign up for a Desert Yoga Escape. If money is really no object, book a Heli-Yoga tour and fly to one of the most scenic points in the Valley of Fire State Park before indulging in a private, 75-minute yoga session.

Take your workout to new heights

Okay, you probably won’t be invited to join Cirque du Soleil after just one class, but hey, maybe two? Check out the full list of Las Vegas wellness and fitness classes offered by the Las Vegas Circus Center, and you’ll certainly be able to find something new to get your muscles burning and feel that mental flow.

From parkour to aerial rope and dance trapeze, these classes are fun (and great for bachelorette or bachelor parties!) and incredibly physical. Give yourself time to soothe those sore abs and fatigued arm muscles in your resort’s hot tub before hitting the town at night.

Let your wild side show at a pole dancing class

In Las Vegas, workouts aren't limited to spin classes and boot camp. Pole Fitness Studio focuses on pole dancing and pole-based workouts (spoiler alert: they’re much harder than they look). We promise you'll have gotten in a solid core workout by the end of your 60-minute class.

They have dozens of beginner and advanced classes including "invert fundamentals," "striptease & sensual movement" and "booty boot camp," to name a few. You can also arrange a private session in case your crew wants to mix an edgy workout into your Las Vegas wellness weekend.

Explore the desert on two wheels

Your version of a Las Vegas wellness retreat might look more like an outdoor, high-adrenaline workout. Grab some mountain bikes and head out on a heart-pumping trail ride through the surrounding desert. It's easy to arrange a guide, and because there are so many natural recreation areas around Vegas, you'll find a tour for every ability level.

If you haven't been on a bike in a while, book a tour of the easier, 15-mile (or so) Cottonwood Canyon trails. Regular mountain bikers, however, can find twisting, fun singletrack trails at Bootleg Canyon. Is road cycling your thing? Good news — you can go just about anywhere, though Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston offer particularly nice views.

Guided tours are available from companies such as Escape Adventures or Cycle Vegas, while Bike Blast Las Vegas also offers rentals, drop-offs and pickups without the guides.

Kick it up a notch

If you're ready to break a sweat, why not visit a kickboxing gym in Vegas and train with the pros? Of course, if you're not a pro, that's also okay — studios such as CKO Las Vegas and Las Vegas Combat Academy can help you train like one even if you've never worn boxing gloves in your life. Since Las Vegas gets so many visitors, almost every gym will allow you to drop in for a quick workout while in town — even if you're not a member. So, grab your friends, your guts and get ready to sweat like crazy.

Kickboxing is a high-intensity workout, so you’ll be more than ready to explore Las Vegas’ diverse culinary scene later that night!

Make time for self-care

Vegas is a lively city, and you're likely to feel the effects of the warm temperatures, late nights and non-stop energy after a few days. The city warrants splurging on a bit of TLC for your body and soul, so why not visit one of the amazing spas on the Strip?

Consider booking access to the "Fountain of Youth" at the Awana Spa — including a rain walk, six vitality pools, a heated Crystal laconium room (read: dry sauna) and cool mist showers.

Whether spending your days at the spa or in the desert, let Las Vegas be your self-care getaway and you'll have memories to last a lifetime.
